SuperStructure.

MAWMedia Group seeks to understand and influence complex systems through education to retrain negatively reinforcing behavior, technology to build infrastructure, and social entrepreneurship to support sustainable community development.

Supra-structure.

§MAWMedia is the institutionalization of a community change movement funded through social entrepreneurship.§  Social entrepreneurship requires more than a simple free market approach. It requires a comprehensive approach to systems change both at the individual systems level as well as the community systems level.

§We use the word “supra-structure” to describe the structures that demonstrate the comprehensive nature of MAWMedia as an institution and serve as a vehicle for the implementation of our values.

Model: CEO Leadership Model.
Creativity (Assessment)
Creativity can be taught. You can proactively structure personal brilliance, diligence, and genius in order to reach seemingly impossible goals.
Entrepreneurship (Awareness)
You must create what you want to see in the world. Discovery, organization, and execution of ideas leads to predictable and frequent peak experiences.
Ownership (Accountability)
None of us can succeed without the rest of us. Give the means of production and the development resources to the human component. Win-win is a bakery, not a single pie.

Method: COACH Method
Creating Opportunities and Changing Horizons (COACH)
The COACH Method is a systematic process for identifying individual social capital and encouraging individuals to seek and participate in social contracts (termed interrelations). Individual social capital connects in dyads, connecting to larger social networks, connecting to markets for economic gain that extends to the larger community. The program addresses multiple system levels through a cybernetic capacity-building structure. The multi-systemic impact of COACH Method builds Career Awareness, Mentoring, and Family & Marriage Health towards building Community Capacity.

The CEO Leadership Curriculum is competency-based learning allowing a dispersed individual team member to develop his/her genius via modular, just-in-time trainings.

Mechanism: Research & Social Capacity Development
§MAWMedia Group implements what may be termed “Community Empowerment Capacity Development” through an ethic promoting justice, collaboration, and peace. The MAWMedia approach to community development is exemplified in its business model. We use technology to search out, store, package, and distribute information. This enables us to involve others in our research activities building the capacity to explore more and more complex topics. This mechanism seeks to empower at every level and across the lifespan to benefit from knowledge production and the access provided by technology.

Infrastructure.

MAWMedia Group fundamental facilities are organized by cores providing an organizational foundation for internal production divisions and external partnerships. The five (5) cores include:

  • Computing Core
  • Training Core
  • Research Core
  • Community Relations Core
  • Merchandising Core

Computing Core
The computing core produces MAWWare, MAWMedia’s own proprietary web-based software for creating, managing, and sharing knowledge.
MAWWare has three relational data portals developed for specific virtual community implementations each based on the Archigetes kernel.

Training Core
Education at MAWMedia seeks to develop creativity, tolerance, and leadership.
Competency-based Education and Training (CBET) methods are used to build modular learning systems.
MAWMedia contract workers and associates receive access to the CEO Leadership Curriculum and other trainings primarily delivered through distributed methods.

Research Core
Action Research is the primary method employed. A participatory approach, action research operates to create communities of inquiry within communities of practice (Reason & Bradbury, 2001).
Mixed methods implementing survey research, Delphi technique, narrative method, comparative models and others are also used to record and interpret the world qualitatively.

Community Relations Core
In addition to low-return dissemination through articles and books, MAWMedia packages content into CDROM/DVD products, distributed education modules, and broadcast media for higher returns on investment.
MAWMedia supports social networks leveraging them to identify partners who want to engage in knowledge sharing horizontally and vertically across multiple networks.
MAWMedia negotiates partnerships between publishers, content experts, and/or institutions to disseminate content in multiple ways, broker new markets, and develop capacity.

Merchandising Core
MAWMedia recognizes that solidarity is important to the longevity of a movement.
Imitation is not only flattery, it is marketing. MAWMedia Group supports the development of other groups through its own social network and merchandising.
MAWMedia stimulates word-of-mouth advertising to build a brand and manages the evolution of its brand through production of branded merchandise.
